TF Denka red Western handle gyuto

Trying to gather info about the red handled Western Teruyasu Fujiwara Denka gyuto. Those are no longer available, are they? How do those compare to current TF Denkas?

The red handle was a re-handle if I recall. The blade itself shouldn’t be any different from a regular TF Denka.

AFAIK Its not a rehandle or special edition or anything like that, more just a sign the blade was purchased in Japan.

I thought the only special editions were the urushi lacquered ones???

They are a version that are only available locally for personal callers to the TF shop. Inzite inspected several and bought a 240 gyuto and a mini-cleaver with the red handle. I don't think there is much if any difference in the blades themselves.

If that is true, I might go pick one up in Tokyo in November...

TF had a wide range of red handled Denkas in the shop last April.
