type of wax for handle gap

I want to plug a small gap where the tang goes into the Japanese handle.
It is not very big but a bit deep.
Should I just use beeswax or would you use renaissance wax?

Beeswax for a natural non-toxic finish. Leave Renaissance wax for its intended use ie furniture

I like melted beeswax or super glue. Some people also use silicon caulking.

Hot melt glue is another option. A little tougher than bees wax, but the blade can still be removed from the handle with heat. I heat the tang and bed it in.

Renaissance Wax has its place in the knife world. Filling gaps between handle and tang is not one of them. Stick to beeswax or hot melt glue. Epoxy works but makes handle removal nigh impossible without wrecking the handle.

Another vote for melt glue. Insert small pieces of it in the hole (while still non-liquid) and use a heated piece of metal to push it in place.

I just use a bee's wax candle I got on sale. So, I kind of do the same...

I've had dodgy results with melted bees wax. Always seems to flake away instead of staying in place. Any trick to this?

I like the hot melt glue idea
