I’m a newbie to working on knives. Just curious what folks use to clamp the knife in place while they’re working on a handle or something along those lines. Thanks!

Or masking table the blade, sandwich between two bits of wood and then hold in a standard vice. The tape stops any scratching

If possible I'd rather remove the handle. Even accounting for the time to remove and reinstall, it's still overall faster for me. and I can get cleaner results on the handle without risking scuffing up the blade in the process. If that's not an option, then protect the blade and clamp in a vise with non marring material.I’m a newbie to working on knives.
