Hi KKF,
Big ones.
Didn’t think I’d release these but I’d like to get my interpretation of the perfect knife for them.
I’m chasing after something with that smooth cutting feel. I’m open to everything but general dimensions are 220mm-250mm between 200g-230g.
Definitely open to outside these dimensions, they’re just general guidelines.
I’m looking for and probably in order of priority.
Twisted Clad Deep Etch Milan
A Slightly Lighter Yanick
Deep Etch Milan
A Non-Honyaki Nine
Milan
No longer in priority
Bazes
Xerxes
A Well Balanced Knife With a Smooth Cutting Feel

Sale Value: Part of a Set
Steel: 135Cr3/Wrought Iron Clad

Edge Length: 242mm
Thickness of Spine at Heel: 4.9mm
Weight: 238g
Finish: Kurouchi/Stone Finished Bevels
Handle: Violet/Poplar Burl

Touched up before it came to me. Tested on a couple produce by me.
Milan 135Cr3 - 233mm (Pear/Horn)
Trade Value: $820 (SOLD to an Offer)
Steel: 135Cr3
Heel Height: mm
Edge Length: 233mm
Thickness of Spine at Heel: 3.6mm
Weight: 196g
Finish: Nashiji/Stone Finished Bevels
Handle: Pear/Horn
Geometry: Light Midweight
Light use before me. Tested on a couple produce by me.
Will likely add a Nine Honyaki ~250mm to the conversation later this week. I don’t have it on me yet, but I would like to generally only have one Honyaki knife.
Not in a rush to make a deal after all I’d like to have the Nine Honyaki join the conversation.
Trade value not indicative of sale value.
Thanks all.
