I'm from an old soviet state as well (Lithuania). Our traditional carrot salad usually includes just carrots, garlic and oil. So that looked way more tasty than the initial. By the way I made your recipe like half an hour ago - tasted great! Thanks for sharing.

I guess today is my lucky day. Must be the luck of having posted here yesterday. The knife got released from customs and came to me without being taxed in the end. It had to spend a week and a half in customs.

Yeah that is the tricky part. I think when you buy from a retailer such as jck you pay the VAT in Japan. Pretty sure of it in fact, so it should be considered export. So you end up paying VAT in both Japan and your home country if they dont realize you already paid VAT in Japan. I wonder how do...
