Putting this up because it’s just been sitting. I saw this knife when @DaM0w first copped it and I immediately fell in love, so when he listed it, I immediately scooped it up. I was going to keep this as a stone tester, but it’s begging to be used, so I gotta let it fly. Bevels are flat, so polishing it is easy asf. Takes an amazing edge, plus it comes with a sick saya. This is the rarer version with the AS core. These usually come in Aogami #2.

Specs:

150x41mm
116g
4.45mm at the handle
Iron Cladding
Aogami Super Core
Unknown Wood (looks like but doesn’t feel like ho wood) Octagonal Handle with Black Buffalo Horn Ferrule
Bocote Saya

Price: $120 SOLD

Mr. Chang turned out to be a seller with questionable ethics.

We had a deal. Then he tried to change the form of payment to get me to pay outside the protections of PayPal mandated by this forum.

I refused and then he refused to proceed with the sale.

Beware of this “seller.”

Let me clarify, my coworker offered me cash and I took it.

There was no done deal. 😂😂 I’ve got the screenshots for whoever wants the lols

Thank you for relaying this! Our diligence is really our only protection. I hope the MODs launch a full investigation

Share them. I have them as well.

After the sale was made and I asked for your PP info, you wanted to create your own form of payment with no protection for the buyer - That is exactly what a disreputable seller does.
And that is exactly what the rules are for.

FYI - I’m done exchanging comments with you.

The only logical explanation is @Chang had his account hacked. Why else would someone build up a reputation over years of positive interactions and dozens of sales to just throw it away on $120 knife??

Mods - freeze all of his BST posts until this get verified

This is true. This year has been rampant with hacks, and while we haven’t seen one in a while, maybe we’ve been lulled to sleep. Vigilance is key in such a tight community! Better safe than sorry I always say 😁

Over a $120 knife?? 🤣

Yes, imagine how bad he’d screw you if real $$ was involved. All I did was meet his price and ask for his PP info to send him money.

Clearly he has very questionable ethics if he is willing to sully himself for the cost of saving postage and PP fees.

You are now informed so you can decide for yourself if you ever deal with him.

Reporting this thread as we never got concrete clarification on if this “Chang” character has been hacked
