Was wondering which one in your collection is the oldest and how old it is @khashy .
Afaik kato started knifemaking in the late 70's but Im guessing most around here would be from the last 10 years i.e. since jns had been carrying them.?
Gonna hazard a guess the migaki nakiri with the light horn ferule is the oldest. Made by his Dad, Shinpei and super rare.

As it has been pointed out, the Shinpei Kato baldes are the oldest. As far as the blades by Kato-san himself, I believe the shortest yanagiba is the oldest.
