Looking for cheaper natties for knives, mostly for polishing. Anything from ˜800 grit and up - midgrits, prefinishers and finishers.

I'm thinking binsui, khao men, ikarashi, anything koppa... open to pretty much anything except oilstones and BBW / coticule (already have some).

Thanks!

What did you mean with cheap? A Shobudani lvl. 2.5-3 is a pretty good finisher and easy to use. For pre finishing i use a Awasedo Mizukihara. The only low grit naturual in my collection is a Amakusa ~#600. I don´t like him

Good question. Preferably under $100 which, I know, doesn’t leave room for much. Basically midgrit koppas mostly?

Bernal has aiiwatani koppa for 136. I bought a smaller one from them maybe a year ago and it is a good stone, albeit a little small. Bonus though if you upgrade to larger stones, the koppa sized make good nagura down the road.

If you know what you want to achieve I can advice you what stone to buy. Just invest a little more in one good stone rather than buy all sorts of koppa. In the long run this is more expensive and less satisfying.

Yeah I'm coming to that conclusion... I already have a very good Shiro Suita so I'm thinking maybe something like an Aizu or something finer than the Suita...

I received a bunch of PMs and will get back to everyone by the end of the day. Many generous offers. Thanks KKF!
