I haven't bought from them in a while, but belforrest is my go to for ebony and Blackwood.
 
Thanks I was looking at that and noticed the hardness of the two. I got some poplar and basswood to check out
Basswood is lightweight but extra extra soft similar to balsawood. I can deform it with my finger. Not sure how durable it would be as a handle.
