“Easy, guys. I put my pants on just like the rest of ya, one leg at a time. Except, once my pants are on, I make gold records.”
First up for sale is a 225mm Troopah W2 Honyaki Gyuto. Got this 2 years ago’ish, while Malachi was still in his early stages, it came pretty thick, so I had Kasumi Kev thin and polish it. Afterwards, it’s been my go to honyaki knife. Sharpens up so fast and easily. Thick and robust spine above the heel for comfort, with a laser thin tip. Comes with a figured walnut saya. If you need me to, I can polish off the patina for ya.
Specs:
225x55
187g
W2 (not shirogami) Honyaki Monosteel
Curly Koa Western Handle with Brass Collar
Figured Walnut Saya
Price:$425 SOLD
Next up is a 255mm Konosuke FM Blue #2 Funayuki, from 2019, so no Mt. Fuji stamp. Picked this up from @marc4pt0. He installed a custom ironwood burl handle, using the original blonde marbled horn, and he also gave it a “frosty” kasumi finish. I think it looks great and sets it apart from the other FM’s. Sharpened only once to test it on the stones. Takes just a bit longer to sharpen than Shirogami, but still relatively easy to bring back the edge. A couple minor scratches located throughout (check video), so the price will reflect that. Comes with an un-pinned Hitohira saya and a pin (never got around to drilling the hole).
Specs:
245x52
207g
Iron Cladding
Aogami #2 Core
Ironwood Burl Reverse Heart-Shaped Handle (facets on bottom, rounded top) with Marbled Blonde Horn Ferrule
Hitohira Saya with Pin
Price:$575 SOLD
