I am loading new stuff in the store and got bored so I thought how about a contest.
The prize is the block in the photo and free shipping worldwide. Winner will be announced on Sunday 2/19.
The block is stabilized and the colors occurred naturally.

Here is how the contest works.

Guess what kind of wood this is and post your answer here.
Only one guess per forum member.
Your post number is your entry.
On Sunday I will use the random number generator to see who wins.
Even if you guess wrong you could still win.

Okay, I will bite first - Redwood Burl

Edit - Okay guess I was second and thanks for the generosity Mark - this could solve my dilemma on how to rehandle my new Shig.

:crossfingers: umm no idea so I will go with something off the wall, how about fossilized redwood. Maybe you don't have to stabilize it.

Looks like stabilized maple burl, with a hint of inkline/spalting

Bloody nice block either way!
