Another knife from that unexpected storage crate....

For sale is a Gengetsu Stainless clad White #2. In terms of which 'iteration' of Gengetsu this is, I can't say with certainty, but I believe this is an early run. I remember a pass around many years back, where the differences in runs was debated, but hell if I know the conclusion. Ironically, the very first Gengetsu I bought from Jon is off in the ether somewhere. I did a pass around myself in something like 2012 and never got the knife back because of a customs snag.

I've owned several Gengetsu's from the very start, several from Jon, and some from this forum. I didn't think I owned any of them anymore, but as mentioned, found this one. Guessing it's an early version, as the specs below don't match what you would see on JKI's site today...principally it's heavier. But don't want to mislead anyone and say I know for certain. The knife looks lightly used, has some evidence of sharpening, but no other thinning etc.

$275 shipped CONUS. Int'l based on shipping.

I’m no authority but have handled a few newer iterations and one or two early ones. This looks lime an early version to me - the low cladding line, kanji on right side (id for w2 version) and no stamp on the left side indicating steel type (present on newer iterations) and profile / neck shape are the clues.

Here is my 240 semistainless old version, with the kanji on the opposite side, as it used to be (bottom knife).

Awesome knives regardless of the iteration but this one doesn’t show up everyday. Wish it was a 240. GLWS!

The "Older Style" Gengetsu had kanji on left side of blade for stainless and right side for white. IIRC, Jon once said it was so he could easily tell them apart.

This knife is a gem, especially at the price. If I were to list my 210, I would start with $400.
