Hey all 😁

I'm giving away the last of these Naniwa Lobster 8000 stones, which I brought back from my recent trip to Japan. Of course I'm keeping one for myself, but I figured a few of y'all would like to check em out, so I grabbed a few extras.

I know this isn't a knock-your-socks-off amazing giveaway, but folks on this forum have always been so kind and generous toward me, so I wanted to at least do something show my appreciation for yall.

I do not know a lot about these stones, as this is the first time I've ever seen them. Only one shop I visited in Japan had Naniwa stones, and these stood out from their limited supply. I can't say what line the're from, due to a lack of info online, but the one I am using has good feedback after soaking. I don't own any other 8000 grit stones to compare it to, but it feels a bit softer than what I expected. I quite enjoy using it.

If any of you wonderful folk have any further details on this line of stones, I would love your input!

From my experience: If you're looking for your unicorn chosera snow white 8000, this is probably not gonna scratch that itch. But if you want a nice Naniwa 8000 grit stone, with good feedback, and a beautiful bright white color, this will be perfect for you.

Size: 210mm X 51mm
Weight: 584g

Rules for entry:

- 1 entry per person
- Open worldwide

- I'll select the winner in 1 week, using a random number generator

Cheers,
Sky

I have a Shapton pro 1k that I bought in 2013, have broken and glued back together and it still serves it's role.
Cheers and good looking out

I have one stone, a combination 1000/3000 ceramic-ish stone from AliExpress. It's serviceable. Very generous of you to set up this free raffle, thanks!

I'm in! My current favorite stone is a coticule, well idk if it's my favorite but one I seem to find myself reaching for the most. 🤷‍♂️ Thanks for this opportunity!

Plz dont send me the stone but I love the everyones fav stone thing.

Mine is between the venev 400/800 for pm steel, king 1k and ouka for multi knife sessions and chosera 1k / morihei 4k ror the one off sharpening session.

For some reason i have not connected well with a aizu / bbw..

Thanks for the giveaway!!

Favorite stone is the Rika 5k, you can sharpen with it, spread it on toast, use it as deodorant in a pinch. 👌

My Favorite would have to be my olive drab Naniwa Gouken Arata 2000. Cuts fast, nice finish, wears slow, great feedback.
Thank you for your idea, I'm sure it will inspire others, like myself, to do something similar in the future!

Since I don't have any naturals the stone I would say I reach for the most is probably my Naniwa Pro 800. It leaves a nice toothy edge and is pleasant to sharpen on, though I need some more time on the Arashiyama 1000 and might find that super nice.

My favorite is my Chosera 3000. It's the first high quality stone that I bought. Splash and go. Slow wearing. I usually don't have to do more than a light touch up or strop my knives. If I do, I have since added the Chosera 800 as well.

I'll admit to being a bit of a newbie on the stones front but currently have a Suehiro 1000/3000 combo.
