My favorite stone is the Suehiro Cerax 1000/3000 combo - comes in box that’s also a built in stand so nice for travel.
Your 8000 would be a nice addition - my current highest grit is a 5 K stone. Thanks Steve

Hey all 😁

I'm giving away the last of these Naniwa Lobster 8000 stones, which I brought back from my recent trip to Japan. Of course I'm keeping one for myself, but I figured a few of y'all would like to check em out, so I grabbed a few extras.

I know this isn't a knock-your-socks-off amazing giveaway, but folks on this forum have always been so kind and generous toward me, so I wanted to at least do something show my appreciation for yall.

I do not know a lot about these stones, as this is the first time I've ever seen them. Only one shop I visited in Japan had Naniwa stones, and these stood out from their limited supply. I can't say what line the're from, due to a lack of info online, but the one I am using has good feedback after soaking. I don't own any other 8000 grit stones to compare it to, but it feels a bit softer than what I expected. I quite enjoy using it.

If any of you wonderful folk have any further details on this line of stones, I would love your input!

From my experience: If you're looking for your unicorn chosera snow white 8000, this is probably not gonna scratch that itch. But if you want a nice Naniwa 8000 grit stone, with good feedback, and a beautiful bright white color, this will be perfect for you.

Size: 210mm X 51mm
Weight: 584g

Rules for entry:
- Comment your current favorite stone to enter
- 1 entry per person
- Open worldwide
- Winner pays for shipping
- I'll select the winner in 1 week, using a random number generator

Cheers,
Sky

Love the Arashiyama 6k since it feels like I’m gliding! Curious if the Lobster 8k provides any differences.

And for those who can't/don't feel like watching a video right now:

Congrats to our winner: @JPAU

This is someone who I know is just getting into the sharpening world, after building an impressive collection in quite a short amount of time. I'm very happy to see this stone going to him 😁

Huge thanks to everyone who participated! This really turned into a great thread, and it was a lot of fun to read!
