Hi,

I've been lurking for a while and decided to join so I can ask questions.

I search threads to find answers and if I can't then I ask questions. I usually only post if I have something meaningful to contribute.

My freehand sharpening skills are minimal and my desire is to learn to sharpen my kitchen knives. My current collection is mostly forged Victorinox from the early 1990's.
I've been researching Japanese Kitchen Knives and working on what to purchase.

My stone collection is King Deluxe (800,1200, 6k, 8k) and a Sun Tiger 240 purchased ages ago for woodworking. I stopped using them when I found the mud built up on the eclipse jig I used and decided to switch to something better suited.

I plan to start with what I have and go from there.

See you around.

Brian

Welcome to KKF. There will be a lot of interesting things here for you.

Welcome Brian! I'm also in Nebraska. The King 800 and 1200 are great stones, especially if you like soakers.
Thanks for the info. I don't have experience with other stones so I guess I'll find out, although Soak & Go stones seem appealing for their ease of use.
