Hi there. Been looking for awhile now, but got some questions to ask the wise folks here, so better get my introduction done.
I live in Denmark and is relatively new to high-end knifes. I caught the bug from a friend of mine, and looking to satisfy the itch with some more high-end steel.
I currently only got some Hitohira Futana's and a Konosuke Sanjo in the drawer, but hopefully they will soon get some company. Kkf can help me with that mission, I'm sure.

Hi Sirius. Thx! :)
There is so much beautiful craftmanship to choose from, but first of all, I'd like to expand my collection of stainless/semi-stainless knifes. Lately I've been looking alot at some black-damascus SKD/SLD knifes, so my next purchase will likely be one of those. I like the look of them, and would like to feel if there is a noticeable difference between my non-damascus Konosuke SKD and the same steel but with the different cladding.

I have been looking alot at a Konosuke Keiai NT lately, because the Kono Sanjo I got is such a great knife. But it seems that there is some kind of problem with the darkened finish on the Keiai NT unfortunately, so I’m also looking at other options.
Do you have a favorite blacksmith I should check out? 😎

Be aware that some black etches can cause drag. I have no experience with the knives mentioned but have had a black etched knife and it drug terribly. Others have reported the same with different brands. I'm not saying these will have that issue.

The Yoshikane is a knife I have looked alot at too. It looks great, and I’m quite sure that my Konosuke is a Yoshikane blade actually. The only problem with that particular black damascus, is that I am not so keen on the color fading as much and easily as it seems to do on those. But maybe it can be polished, so the dark color on the side, is removed all together?

Are you only interested i stainless/semi-stainless, or Would you consider carbonsteel too?
Currently I don’t feel ready to go full carbon. I’d like to build up a collection of knifes I feel safe using every day, with the knowledge that if I forget it on the choppingboard for awhile, it will not be a problem. But for sure I will give the patina game a chance at some point in time

For some reason I thought the Keiai NT was a Shigeki Tanaka blade (hence the T in NT). Looks very similar.
