I've been practicing for 2 months and I've gone through the "beginner's luck" stage, the "this isn't so hard" stage and now I've reached the "there's more to this than I thought" stage.

I think knife sharpening is kind of like playing golf. You can go out and play golf for years without any golf lessons, but you'll never be as good as you could be if you had taken some lessons from a golf pro.

I took Dave's beginner class about a year ago. It was outstanding and really allowed me to take a big leap in my sharpening performance and knowledge. Seeing it done the correct way (from prepping the stones to deburring on felt), hands on, and getting to experience what sharp really is was a huge benefit. Well worth the time and money.

I don't have one planned but I've been thinking about. I'll post on this in my sub-forum when the time comes.

Thanks for the kind words guys.
