Day 3
Here’s my 1905-1950 JA henckels 11 inch knife. It was made sometime after they won a grand prize in Paris and St. Louis. Handle appears to be walnut. Made in solingen Germany. I have the 8”, 10”, 11”, 12”, and 14” version of this knife.
I’ve always been curious if the 3 small rivets version is a different time period than the “large middle rivet” version. I see less of the 3 small rivets, and generally they’re in worse shape, so I’m assuming older.Nice! As a J.A.Henckels collector that gets 5/5 stars from me!
I have a few 102s as well including three 12 inchers which seem to be most commonly found.
Yours looks to be in pretty good shape. Profile looks pretty new and the stamp on the handle is still partly visible.
I've tried dating these and it's not easy. They made these 102s (and 108s) from the early 1900s all the way to just before 1955. They also have different handle securement options; 'pin-rivet-pin' like yours here, three rivets, as well as possibly different handle shapes.
