This is a nice way to get things ready for a sharpening session. And it gives me a chance to link to this video, which I try to do as often as possible.
But the best thing in the world for tons of occasions was the NHK Blends set of videos. There used to be dozens of them in glorious HD, and all of them were amazing. They've since all officially been taken down, but a handful remain under various third party accounts. I wish the official channel would come back, because it was the best thing to throw on and prep or sharpen or have on while you eat even. Like I'd totally appropriate that and play it all day on a loop in my restaurant. Not that I own a restaurant. But If I did...
YMO is always nice to establish a good rhythm.
