I don’t have the same aversion to tier lists that some others do - I posted one in another forum myself - but that’s IMO the biggest flaw with them.Interestingly enough, I have another knife (white #2) from the same maker that looks like a proper knife. Maybe I got a dud?
The format carries an inherent implication of definitiveness (even at the same time as we understand they’re subjective) and can be thrown way off by the incredibly small sample sizes that we’re limited to (unless we happen to be working at a knife retailer).
In that sense, even though I always find them to be a fun, guilty pleasure, they can also end up being quite misleading for the novice reader who takes them at face value.
