Hi all, from Kitsap county in Washington,
I guess i have to post to activate my membership, so here it is. I needed a new venture, and knives definitely got me. Recently bought a MagnaCut fillet knife, which got me into steel info, then carbon vs stainless, then ordered from Justin at Running Man Forge... and the snowball is now rolling down the hill! Looking forward to watching the buy/sell but have nothing much to trade (except fly rods). Also look forward to learning from y'all.
1315, out.

Welcome. What do you think of the MagnaCut fillet knife in use?

I've not had it in the field yet. I fish salmon, and the season is closed. I bought a 6" for removing rib bones, and will get a 9" for filleting in the field when the maker receives that stock.
The maker was North Arm Knives out of Canada, a father/son team that I'm very happy to do business with. They are transitioning from CPM S35VN on some of their stock, and the properties of MagnaCut looked perfect for my use.
Product is very well made, but I just have not used it for it's application enough to give you good feedback, other than I think North Arm delivered a well-sharpened, very well built product. I'm happy to have it as the first in the herd! (Salmon opens in January!)
