Hi all.

Yesterday I ordered a Kaeru kasumi stainless on JNS.

I was looking for a no fuss stainless workhorse and seems like It gets a lot of love.

I know JNS don't give any info on the maker.

But do any of you guys know, or at least have a qualified guess on who the maker is. Some mention Wakui or kawachi.

What do you guys think?

Have a great day👍

Wakui was implicated for the Kaeru white and Kaeru workhorse lines but those were quite different from the Kaeru stainless knives.

Also, in case of doubt they were of course made by Mazaki...

Hi all.

Yesterday I ordered a Kaeru kasumi stainless on JNS.
I did the same last Friday. I miss not having a 240mm gyuto, and since I use one very little, decided to get a Kaeru. I had a Toyama 240 but sold it, not wanting to have that much money tied up in a knife I don't use much. I also picked up the little 90mm petty.

Not sure how any one actually "knows" who makes them. I really don't care as long as they perform. We shall see.
