Hello Everyone!

I have decided to sell my pristine BNIB 210mm Konosuke Fujiyama FM Blue 1. Please note, my understanding is this is now discontinued. Fujiyamas will possibly be produced again but under a new sharpener.

I have been very fortunate to handle many Fujiyamas and this was one of the best specimens I have handled. The fit and finish is as good as it gets and handle alignment is perfect too. Its extremely satisfying to hold it. There is one catch though. I am selling it only because I need some cash; so, I will only sell it in a bundle with a teapot that I have listed (WTS - Teapot by highly respected Shoson Sawada). I am asking for $1,300 plus shipping for the bundle. Here are a few photos of the knife.

Thanks.

Do you have a link to back up that statement? First I've heard of it. PM if you don't want to clutter up the thread.

So the original Fujiyama, under Morihiro, are pretty much unofficially discontinued.

But the FMs, under Myojin, are not discontinued. He is still working with Konosuke, (and a lot of other places too- popular dude) and more are planned to be released. I've heard a major spike in tourism in Japan has caused a TON of stuff to get backed up in the pipeline, which is part of (but obviously not all) the reason for some of the slow down in knives getting out.

FM Fujiyama, forged by Tanaka and sharpened by Myojin, are still being made.

I think its better to comment here publicly so that others can benefit from it too.

There are 2 retailers who have consistently stocked Fujiyamas - Tosho and CKTG. I asked Mark from CKTG about Fujiyamas and this was his exact response:

"Kosuke has had 10 years of trouble getting knives from both blacksmiths and sharpeners so he’s working on starting his own shop which takes time. He’s training a new sharpener now but he’s not ready to do the Fujiyamas yet. When he’s ready he’ll start supplying them again."
