Got a few new stones from Maruoyama. 2x Nakayama Maruka Kiita, 1 Shoubudani Asagi, 1 Maruoyama Shiro Suita, 1 Kizuyama Tomae.

Got too eager, so I tested the leftmost 2 stones earlier.

This is the phenomenonal finish from the Shoubudani Asagi:

That's so nice. What progression did you go through before finishing? Does that stone take out scratches at all, or was it scratch free before using it?
It was relatively scratch free already. I do think there is 1 scratch in there somewhere though, caused from an earlier stone.

This stone removes scratches for sure. Hmm, progression wise... It came to me quite well done (flat and decently polished) at about 3k grit. I then went onto a natsuya, a jibiki, an unknown kiita, followed by the nakayama maruka kiita and the Shoubudani Asagi. At this point, you can see that the last 3 stones are overlapping. I wanted to see what minute differences, if any, existed. So far, the Shoubu is incredible. As originally described by the seller, it feels like the blade just melts away (with an atoma/nagura slurry generated). It is a super clean stone. No comets, no sandy particles.

I still have to learn it in a bit more detail, but the results already speak for themselves.

This is an amazing haul, definitely making me consider expanding my current natty stone numbers
