Hey guys, here's a rare Maruoyama that doesn't come up much. It's from Tenjou Suita where maruo Ao suita come from. What makes this stone unique, is that it doesn't have any Ao suita characteristics. Usually you'll see AoSuita with Tenkasumi looking like Namazu on the stone. This stone is Pure Tenkasumi and has stronger cutting and polishing power. Its a firm stone that cuts fast and leaves a beautiful finish reminiscent of Ohira Suita. It's a smaller laser sized stone but I have zero problem with surface area and comfortable sharpenability. I did the test pics w my Aogami#2 270mm yanagiba. Nice subtle renge throughout. It works extremely well with stainless steel as well.
