Up for grabs here is a masahi SLD 240 gyuto. Used only at home, not at work. Never sharpened. 240 MM and 55 MM.
I really enjoy masahi’s work. This thing has awesome distal taper. A ridiculously thin tip. Also has a really nice grind. This thing is awesome! Especially for the price.

Only thing i’m not a huge fan of are these friction fit sayas. At least with mine, it scratched the knife slightly. Not a huge deal at all. Knife will have to be thinned eventually anyways to maintain geometry. This knife was literally used once to prep a jicama salad. Washed it, dried it, and put it away. When I took photos today, I realized the saya must of scratched the blade a touch when I put it away.

Price is $250 shipped USPS priority mail CONUS
EDIT : Just hit the blade up with a microfiber towel. That scratch Is barely noticeable. I’ll update the photos soon. Tsubaki oil was on the blade previously so excuse that finger print 😁

So nice.

Do these come acid etched? The core steel and lamination line kind of look like it in your photos.

Not that i’m aware of. Probably the light in my crappy kitchen. I can take some photos outside if you want.

Oh, no need, I’m just tire kicking here. GLWS!

Took a couple outside pics just to put here anyways.

It is a trick of light - and perhaps not ambient light as much as how the obturator of the device captures it. On most pics it looks like the left side only is black, right side as we would expect, but then you look at the second photo of OP and the very heel of the right side looks black.

Yeah it’s definitely not etched. I think it’s trickier because the core steel is pretty polished and the cladding is lighter behind it. These are phone photos. This knife pretty much looks exactly like the aframes photos. If anyone needs more photos, shoot me a message.

If anyone is on the fence about this - This is one of my favorites out of roughly a dozen highly regarded gyutos in my possession right now. Very nice large flat spot, super thin, and great rounding in the neck/choil area. You won't be disappointed.

If you'll ship to Australia I'll take it

sorry to all the international folks. Going to have to keep this one in the US. Shipping quotes are just too nuts.
