So, it’s been a bit since the latest batch of KS have made their way out into the wild. I’m curious to hear from exclusively members who’ve owned the older- let’s say pre 2013- batches and who’ve also worked with the latest batch. I still regret selling Salty’s old 240 that I owned for a pinch back in 2013. Not because it outperformed anything else in my kit at the time, but mostly because it had a lot of character, whippy feel/profile, and good heat treat. None of which I really appreciated at the time unfortunately. Regardless- what’re your thoughts on old vs new?

craig says the newer run is thinner and better. its all the same if you ask me, the taper and profile is what makes the ks a ks really and the crap retention heat treat but hella sexy on stones feel.

+1 I miss the "like" button, now I'm resigned to taking up room on this thread with a "+1" post with nothing further to add.

On the older KS I like the depressed kanji, rather than printed on the blade.

Where is the like button when you need it
