Got a bunch of beauties to move along. They’re all glamorous, and they have great personalities, but for one reason or another we decided we weren’t right for each other. I'm talking to my therapist.
Here they are.
Jonas 250 Semi-Integral Honyaki. Aogami #2. Macassar Ebony Handle. TRADED
You’ve seen this one before. It’s THIS ONE from Modern Cooking. Beautiful. And fabulous steel. All that mirror finish was too much for me. I wanted to use it.. but I didn’t want it to get used. Cut a few things, stropped, etc. In essence, as received. In pics you will see little spot near tip, but no worries—it’s a tiny piece of tape from the shipping sleeve. Out of my league.
Got it from Jedy617. He first listed it like this: "1. Isasmedjan blue 2 honyaki laser: 250mm edge length, 53mm height. Would say grind is more similar to a thin middleweight. beautiful integral dimple for a nice pinch grip. Macassar ebony handle which feels perfect in the hand. Beautiful hamon which is hard to get in blue steel. Unused. $950 shipped."
Then he posted again like this, which was how I got it: "Isasmedjan Blue 2 integral honyaki $850. New, never cut, has slight patina in some spots from storage. Probably the best hamon out of aogami I've seen...really difficult to do. The integral bolster with a thumb sized dent in it makes it extremely comfy in hand. Only posting this up because I'm hoping to score a custom spot from jonas and do a slightly different config. Super thin grind. Macassar ebony mono handle, great fit and finish. Some small scratches on the mirror finish, came like that. That's just the way mirror honyakis are, but this is close to perfect. 250mm x55.8mm"
I paid $700.
New Price: $650 shipped, CONUS to start. Paypal.
TRADED
An outstandingly beautiful and essentially new knife.
Next is a sweet Brook Turner 225.
This is from drsmp, and here is what he said: "Tasmanian Blackwood handle, wrought /nickel clad and 52100 clad. 225 edge 55 height and weighs 212 gm. The tip protector came loose in shipping and scuffed up one side of the blade so I polished with micromesh, fingerstones, re-etched then polished with sunshine cloth. Edge stropped on 4K stone after refinish. Used for a couple meal preps.$635 insured UPS to US."
I only used it a couple of times. Seriously lovely knife, but just didn’t fit my hand or the way I cook. I have no idea what I’m talking about, except that I didn’t reach for it, so I put it away. Been stropped, some wax for protection, and that’s it. I paid $635, and I’m asking $600. HERE is drsmp’s link and nice pics.
And HERE is the instagram where it first appeared.
New Price: $500
SOLD
Next, a Nico and aVerissimo pair: Sebastian Nico (Sebsteelworks) 194 k-tip, and a Vasco Verissimo (Verissimo Knives) 160 Bunka. These came from jjsoviet, and HERE is the original link.
He’s got all the specs there, and some nice pix, too. I never used the Verissimo even once, and the Nico only once. Again, what do I know? Two is just too much for me. These things are beautiful, and the craftsmanship is fantastic, but they don’t want to live with me. I paid $500 for the pair, and it was a great price. Selling for same. If you want just one, then $260. Of course shipping included.
VERISSIMO IS SOLD. NICO REMAINS.
New Price on the NICO: $240
SOLD Next is a sweet and virtually unused Birgersson 237. This one came from Scott, and HERE is his original listing, but I think the original pics are gone. Beautiful lacewood handle and.. well.. just what you’ve come to expect. See pics below, but you know what it looks like and how it performs. Same as the beauties before it, we spent the night together, and then… well.. it just didn’t seem like the relationship was going anywhere. $350 shipped CONUS.
Shipping included. Paypal please. CONUS to start.
Any questions, please ask. Sorry about choil shots.. not sure how to make that work well. All additional specs in linked posts.
Thanks!
Stef
