Nogent I.D help? 90% missing logo.

Got this 10" nogent. The logo is almost completely missing. Tried looking for matches but haven't had any luck. Something "Atlas"?

Any ideas?

I had a look at the marques de Thiers, which is a register of trade marks deposed with the registrar's office. The figure of Atlas wearing the world has been deposed a few times by the Marcland family.

My guess is it is NOS, new old stock, a knife made from a vintage blade, reground, and with a paint beech handle and aluminium ferrule as the original ones aren't available any more but the forward balance has to preserved. A good practice with old stocks of carbon steel blades. Yours is in pretty good shape, didn't get much use.

Awesome! Thank you. You're good. It was sold as a NOS knife. The ferrule is nickel(I did an acid test) and has a soldered seam. I thought the handle was gaboon ebony but will have to take a closer look.
