Considering a 165mm Ginsan Nakiri for the blade ; it has an ombre lacquer oak handle .
Being that I've never owned this type of lacquered handle would like to know if there are any issues such as slipping .
Or other reason(s) to avoid .

Lacquered handles are very water resistant, but feel basically like plastic. If you don't care for a wood texture feel, then it's perfectly fine.

I fit and sell those oak handles, they come with a nice basic polish but the shop you are buying your OEM knife from have maybe added the lacquer. Generally they fit the hand nicely and the octagonal lines lock in. They have good grip but with the lacquer them may become a bit slicker.
