Ok guys I'm trying to build up a progression of stones for polishing. As of now my transition from synthetic to natural is a king 800 then jumping to aizu or natsuya and it seems to take quite a while to get the finer scratches out of the core steel. They could actually be from the previous coarser grits, Im still experimenting at the moment. But I went atoma 400 to whack bevel down to flat then king 320 then king 800 then to both aizu and natsuya to see how they compare.

I would like recommendations on synthetic stones between the aizu/natsuya and king 800, something that doesn't leave deep scratches for the naturals to get out is the aim of the game.

My “soft” progression is:

Gesshin 220
King 800
JNS Synthetic Red Aoto

I’ve since gotten an Aizu, but haven’t really played much with adding it to progressions.

I still have plenty of life in my King 800, but if I were to do it all again I’d replace it with the Gesshin 1200

Ive also used the Gesshin Jinzo Aoto which I like a lot, but already have the JNS Red and I’ve thought about tile sawing it into two half size stones, so I could have two regular size stones. Neither of which I’d use all of.
