Doorstop stone
Worst natural stone and stone in general, I have ever used. Extremely hard, practically no cutting action, only 1k scratches and mirror burnishing like granite. I bought it to see the effect of gigantic su, and to what degree that even and consistent stones are good. And since I had never seen a stone like this. Well, this is a junk stone. Supposedly Nakayama . . . Which supposedly has a lot of junk suita like this, so terrible yield. I am surprised this made it to being cut into a whole stone. It's also porous . . . so it soaks in water, but the stone itself is so hard it doesn't really cut. . . yeah.
I mean.... Maybe good to rip burrs off, but the edge sharpness degrades still.
195 x 80 x 27mm
Only good for novelty purposes. It's highly unlikely you will use a worse japanese natural stone. I mean, I've used stones that were fine that left some coarser scratches, but at least the trade off was that they still cut quick enough. A stone should cut fast, or cut slow and leave a good polish or sharper edge. This one doesn't do either, really. Oh! wait. It does give an awesome edge to cut cardboard, but that's it.
I even used a diamond plate too . . .little abrasive power. Although the seller in Japan said it would have good abrasive power. IDK. I've tried some nagura and they don't work as well as when I use them on any other stone. No synergy effect.
$8 plus shipping.
