Mustard patina?

Am I seeing a convex grind or imaging it? Edit: Just re-read your OP, so yes, convex grind. D'oh.

Beautiful work and absolutely killer price. If it weren't the taxes I would easily grab this one.
Yes, the knife is pretty well worth it for the original price plus taxes, then was even lowered and you get a saya thrown in.
Not sure there is trade agreement between uk and eu but i paid less than i thought last time.
If i was in ireland i would lend you my nakiri from Michael. Pretty sure that would convince you.

Absolutely agree. This is/was a hell of a deal. Not sure on any trade agreement between EU and the UK but had a very bad experience last time I have tried to buy from there.

Well, this beauty is now sold and whoever bought it made a great deal.

Very nice of you to be willing to lend me one of your knives.

Cheers

1. Shipping forth and back would be expensive of course. Maybe somebody in ireland has one of Michael´s knives to try; never hurts to ask.
2. Could be much cheaper to simply buy; in the unlikely case that you don´t like it, you can sell it again; catch and release.
3. Or you could convince Michael to do a EU passaround.
Participants could share the eventual import fees so they become negligible.

l wanted to give a brief review after a week of real use.

Food release is pretty damn good and definitely saved me some time with the volumes I processed. I cut 150# of carrots with only 2-3 instances of wedging. Fell right through 75# of zucchini as well among many other things this week. Stropped it at the end of the week and it got shaving sharp again.

I’m a fan of blades with a humble appearance, so the forced patina is a nice middle ground of eye catching without being flashy. Overall I’m super happy and feel like this is the best value I’ve gotten in a knife for the money spent.

Definitely recommend checking out Michael’s work if you’ve been thinking about it.

Regret not buying this
