I bought this a while back - opened it, used it on one white onion and a 1/3 of a small red cabbage to ensure it tracked straight through hard produce (it does). I wiped it off and put it away in a drawer where it has remained unused. It has a slight patina the onion created, and I have left this on the blade. Apart from that, it is completely new/unused/un-sharpened. I have a Toyama 240 I love, so can't find the need to keep this one. I do have a Sakai 180mm Bunka of the same construction which is my favorite knife. It is speculated Matsubara makes these for Sakai. Dunno - they do seem very similar. It's stainless clad, blue no.2 with a Magnolia/buffalo horn handle.
