Hey KKF,

For your consideration I have a few knives that I like to re-home.

Considerations:
  • CONUS only (I don't want the hassle of international shipping). Hawaii and Alaska shipping is on you; I'll cover the first $20.
  • All shipping includes insurance except for the Shiro and Hatsukokoro
  • Price includes Paypal Fees. Other options can be discussed in private
  • I'm including a few pictures but happy to take more or videos upon request
1) Shihan 266mm W2 (Sold)
  • Price: $1100
  • Measurements: 266mm x 58mm
  • Weight: 292gr
  • Condition: Got the knife directly from Shihan during his last drop. This is part of his reclaimed batch. Cladding on the knife is wild. Beast of a knife, used once to cut a potato and some pieces of paper. No signs of Patina. OOB sharpness was so-so but haven't put the knife on the stones yet. I can see how this knife could be a prep monster. Paid $1100 looking to get the same but open to offers. I won't be mad if this doesn't sell.

2) Kagekiyo 240mm B1 (Sold)
  • Price: $535 (save $100 vs JKI) $500
  • Measurements: 232mm x 51mm
  • Weight: 156gr
  • Condition: Got it from JKI. This is probably of the best finished knife's for the money. F&F is perfect and the handle is amazing. Kagekiyos feel very similar to the OG Konosukes Fujiyamas. This knife has been used a few times. Very small sign of patina around the edge. This comes with original box and saya. Never sharpenned nor stropped.

3) Konosuke Sumiiro 240mm SLD (Sold)
  • Price: $325 $300
  • Measurements: 245mm x 50mm
  • Weight: 197gr
  • Condition: Paid $400. If you like flat profiles this is the knife for you. F&F is great. The handle is laurel and is my favorite out of all the Konosuke's I have owned which are more than I care to admit. Used once or twice for some home cooked meals. The core is not reactive at all and a great performer overall.

4) Konosuke 240mm HD2 (Sold)
  • Price: $280
  • Measurements: 230mm x 48mm
  • Weight: 140g
  • Condition: The HD2 line is well known at this point. Got it from Bernal This knife has around 10 home meals. Very light patina. Knife is not reactive at all . It looks almost brand new. It has great board feel. Comes with saya.

5) Shiro-Kamo 240mm Aogami Super with Stainless Clad Iron Clad (Sold)
  • Price: $120 (price does not include shipping)
  • Measurements: 245mm x 48mm
  • Weight: 209g
  • Condition: This is BNIB (maybe I did a paper test cut but cannot remember). Bought this to practice my sharpening skills but never put it to the stones so it sat in one of my drawers. I think this can make a great slicer or a good practice knife.

6) Mutsumi Hinoura 240mm W2 with soft iron clad (Withdraw)
  • Price: $200 $175
  • Measurements: 245mm x 52mm
  • Weight: 216g
  • Condition: This is BNIB not even paper cut test. Never used. The profile is great and I've great things about this knife and W2 HT but didn't get the chance to test it. Handle is ho-wood.

7) Birch & Bevel 250mm 1.2419 carbon steel (mono-steel) (Sold)
  • Price: $300
  • Measurements: 250mm x 56mm
  • Weight: 207g
  • Condition: One of my favorites knives. The tip of the knife will ghost through onions but the knife also can handle more dense vegetables. The F&F and handle are great. I cannot say enough good things about this knife. I think this knife is better value than many of the Japanese offerings. Profile is perfect and it's super comfortable to use. I have used it a few times and it's starting to develop a patina.

8) Hatsukoro 210mm W2 with soft iron clad (sold)
  • Price: $60 (not including shipping)
  • Measurements: 201mm x 51mm
  • Weight: 151g
  • Condition: Knife has been used and has some patina. I think this would make a great first japanese knife or a great knife to practice polishing/sharpening.

I have the Dammy clad version of that Kagekiyo. I think this is one of the best grinds of Tanaka's work that get's the thick spine and thin BTE. It's the goldilocks grind for me. A lot of sharpeners do great, but Nishida makes the most of it I think. The TxK is too light and the Kagekiyo gets that little bit of heft on the spine. The handle is killer too with the Urushi lacquer and gold flecks that just oooze style. BTE on the white 1 kagekiyo is just a skosh thinner but feels fragile also. This is the one to get.

The kagekiyo is amazing and surprisingly doesn't get any love. To me it's a great performer, super comfortable. It's also a looker.
