You can adjust the "tight fit" of some sayas. They usually pinch at the spine. I use a small saw blade, push and pull by hand, to clean and scrape near the glued edges, and a narrow flat metal object (metal ruler) with sandpaper wrapped around it to clean and scrape the sides.
