Thanks, but I did actually mean to say Tanaka.. I guess my question was one of mutual exclusivity. To my understanding: Tsubaya will commission knives from Tanaka or TNH, but just because it’s a TNH, doesn’t suggest it was made from a Tanaka forged ‘blank?’. Likewise, just because it’s a Tsubaya branded Tanaka, doesn’t suggest it’s a TNH. I probably should have just asked elsewhere, cuz Tanaka was irrelevant to the post 😅

So I was on site at tsubaya in tokyo and also bought a takada no hamono. The newer models all have the tusbaya kanji on one side and the normal tnh logo on the other.
It is also clearly communicated in the store and is a "separate section" for tnh. Besides there is also a section with a picture of Tanaka, I think there are the other knives that have been forged by him offered. But I have not asked more specifically because of this.
