Sometimes you just need money.
This is a monster 240mm western deba that's gorgeous, fun to use, and extremely durable and low maintaince. You can use it for refined butchery tasks on (very) large fish or use it as the most elegant of beaters. The heat treatment and thick grind make it capable of tackling virtually any tough task, from chopping woody herbs or popping holes in olive oil cans. Not that I recommend such a thing with such a beautiful object. But you can if you want to.
Handle is stabilized dyed linden burl with mosaic and nickel silver pins. It has a Coke bottle-ish shape that is comfortable for a blade of this weight. The craftsmanship is excellent and the wood is beautiful. It is very dark, a blend of black and red. The left side is more red, the right more black. It's a fierce combination.
The saya is from Korin, who also put the most recent edge on it. I've used it a few times (nothing crazy) since then.
List price is $230 for the knife and $40 for the saya. I'm asking $265 shipped.
