I sold someone a knife and then UPS lost the package. I refunded the buyer. I had insured it, so I filed a claim and UPS paid me. Then, lo and behold, UPS delivers the package some time later. So my question is, is UPS just SOL since they already paid the claim? Has anyone experienced this before?

I had a similar experience with USPS (always use pirateship anyway, usps doesnt love to pay out). The knife was lost for like 6 months and finally came. No one asked for money back or anything. I don't think anyone will. Especially if it's been missing awhile, how long has it been

Not precisely this, but I had a UPS package for me which was reported delivered, but wasn't here. I reported the issue to the seller, so I don't know if they paid or UPS did, but I was immediately sent a replacement. In parallel, my neighbor stops by with the original package. I contacted the seller by phone to either pay for two, or return one. After an hour on the phone, nobody at the company (who shall remain nameless) couldn't figure out how to do it, and I ran out of patience trying to do the "right" thing. So, I have two.

They paid me about a week ago. They lost the knife around 9/22 or so. Hopefully the knife is in good condition but we don't know yet because it is at a UPS access point.

I defenitly wouldn't say anything. You paid insurance to make sure the knife got there in one piece, and on time. Having to refund the buyer and all that stuff is a hassle and it's on UPS. I would make sure you have the money on hand for like a month in case they come knocking, but I highly, highly doubt that would happen.
