Some Color etch metallography I did of CPM 15V.
Cream colored vanadium carbides in a blue matrix of tempered martensite.

CPM 15V edge at high magnification. Carbides have been exposed from matrix with sharpening technique, this increases aggression. Carbides are ~3um average size.

CPM 15V with high polished edge under high magnification, carbides have been cut and polished flush with matrix ; better push cutting.
