Hello,
I was trying to buy so SiC powder for lapping stones and polishing blades but can't really find any shop for non-professional (at least no french shop) (and amazon is a bust somehow). Has anyone bought any in the EU?
Thanks

I got mine from Trey (Comet) and supplied with his knives. It is 1500grit. Ebay or a stone polishing shop will have what you need.

I looked around. So dictum only has 2 grits.
Ebay so far only has things with higher shipping cost (for me) than the product.
knivesandtools only has the shapton lapping powder and the grit range is too much (120-1000). I'd rather have a few different grit powder and mix them if necessary.
I looked at stone polishing shop and found 2:
https://www.atelierlatrouvaille.com/1123-carbure-de-silice-et-produits-de-polissagehttps://www.sharpeningstones.de/pro...-carbide-grinding-powder---lapping-plate.html
bought some from the latter. No idea how trustworthy they are. I'll update here once I receive them and try them :)
Thanks for your help everyone!

Finest (1k) may be too gritty for a smooth, polished finish.

Oh @refcast in his kasumi diy used 220 grit SiC powder. So I didn't even order the 1000 grit. What grit do you think I should get?
Trey provides 1500grit and this is perfect for removing patina, light rust and polishing the blade without leaving a scratch pattern.

Like for Patina & light rust removal like you said?
For that use the powder mixed into a paste with a little oil. Or it can be applied as a powder. Dead simple and no risk of scratching the finish.

I read your 'for lapping stones' in the opening post.
You should think very coarse for that. Like the 60-120 range.
Even for high gritt stones thats what you need to get them flat. You can leave the coarse surface, or smooth it out with higher gritt powder afterwards. But I don't think thats even needed. The coarse surface is gone after a few strokes.
