Users definitely preferred.
I'm looking at the Moritaka Honesuki because 1) I'm left handed, 2) I don't like white steel, 3) I can't afford a Takeda, and 4) I've never had a true single bevel before. I also have a user Watanabe 240 that I'd be willing to use as trade bait.

Users definitely preferred. I've been doing a ton of butchery recently (coppa, short rib, some fish, some chicken) at my current job and my Victorinox semi-flex has been struggling to keep up.
