Next up in the second half of my fifty for one sale is a 190mm Yoshimitsu Fugen Tall Nakiri/small Chinese cleaver. This is one of the knives that I have had the most difficult time adding to the second half of my fifty for one sale. I like tall nakiri’s and Chinese style cleavers and this knife has the most positive elements of both styles of knives IMO. It has a very nice custom handle and is excellent in hand … to me having a very nimble feel despite its relatively large size. It offers the easily sharpened White #1 core steel with a karouchi finished soft iron cladding to resist any traces of rusting. Specs are …
Blade length … 212mm
Edge length … 190mm
Depth … 75mm
Thickness measured at the spine … 3.3mm at the heel, 2.35mm mid blade, 1.7mm 1” from the tip
Weight … 228gms
HRC … reported at 61
Perhaps the best part is the price where IMO the Yoshimitsu punches well above its weight at $275USD shipped and insured to the USA and international. In Canada a little less due to lower fees.
