Anyone into making ice cream.....My wife and I have had the Wynter ICM-200LS for a few months and so far we have done batches of vanilla, peach, banana and eggnog ice cream.....The vanilla and eggnog turned out the best of the batch, the peach was decent but since its not the season for peaches...

    Coffee machine cleaning solution

What's been recommended is to do is a auto clean which is just hot water flush through the milking system after a batch of brews with milk, if you run another batch later in the day repeat the auto clean......once your done brewing for the day then do a auto clean but with there cleaning fluid...

    Coffee machine cleaning solution

Just bought a Jura J6 Full auto coffee machine and see the recommendations to clean the milk / frothing system daily.....the off the shelf solutions the manufacture recommend is a bit pricey.....I've read a few that use vinegar & water, citric acid & water, etc......but it seems that is what...

    Exspresso machines (fully auto)

Last night my wife and I went back to the store that had the full auto coffee machines and demoed the Mieli 6350, Breville Oracle and the Jura J6 machines for a second time.....ended up going with the Jura 6 machine.....we both felt it made the best drinks and was easy to use. The Breville was...

    Exspresso machines (fully auto)

Thank you WildBoar for your comments......I'll be sure to check out some of the things you pointed out. The froth issue you bring up wouldn't be a concern with me or my wife as everything would be going in the cup. I did ask about the grinder and its something Jura has worked on over the years...

    Cutting board

Just for giggles I bought a Boos walnut just to check out, never had one before.....overall looks arn't bad but one can easily tell its a mass production board, your typical hi and low spots through out, glue joints are a bit more present, etc.....Not sure I'll keep it as a second board. The...

    Exspresso machines (fully auto)

Yes.....I may not be using the right name for the machines but the one's that can do several types of drinks like mocha, latte, cappuccino, whites, coffee, etc. and have water reservoir, grinder and other features. This is one of the models that I tried...

    Exspresso machines (fully auto)

Been kicking around changing up the coffee machine.....currently have a Bonavita brewer and it does a good cup, proper temp but occasionally crave a mocha, latte, cappuccino, etc.....and probably would do so more often if I had a full auto type machine. Last night I tried the Jura J6 and Jura E8...

    Cutting board

I did check out the Sani Tuff boards and it was a consideration and still may be so for a second board.....I thought I read a few commenting the Sani Tuff boards to grab the edge of the knife a bit and one needs to be more aware of that, not sure if its true or not as I've not used one. I think...

    Cutting board

In my searching I ran across Kobi blocks cutting boards http://www.kobiblocks.com/cutting-boards/ Anyone have experience with these, the walnut edge grain or cherry edge grain look nice. I like they do any size you want and the pricing seems reasonable.

    Cutting board

I was looking for something in the 18"x24' and the first link you mentioned has them at $239.....it seems like once you get over the 12" x 20" or similar size they really jump up in price. I've seen several of the smaller and medium ones at about the $50-$80 range but was thinking going...

    Cutting board

Thanks for the input....yes I've seen the Hinoki Japanese Cypress Wood boards, they look nice and reasonable cost wise and I like that they are light weight and move around easily. Are these types all the same and created equal or have you found a particular manufacture to buy these from? I...

    Cutting board

Been using the typical slide out cutting board that one finds in their lower kitchen cabinets but its time to get something better.....can't believe we've put up with it for all these years. My wife and I like to cook so we recently bought several Miyabi Fusion knives, I know there considered...

    Appreciate some sharpening guidance

Thanks.....appreciate the time you spent posting to my thread. I did check out a few of Jon's videos and its pretty straight forward, I've spent most of my life around tools for a living so I'm comfortable handling the tools. I see this more as.....learning a new technique with a specific tool...
