I wanted more counter space so I bought a 7mm stainless steel grill grate off of Amazon that fits in the recessed portion of my sink and is flush with my counter. This has been so useful. I place my cutting board on it. It gives me usable space over the sink and things can be easily rinsed off. I use it as a sink bridge for sharpening my knives and I can rotate my whetstone to make it more comfortable instead of having to go straight forward and backward. I place hot things on it. The grate easily slides left and right and is stable with no flex or wobbling.
