Got some cool stuff on order for my stone shop and invoices don’t pay themselves.

Classic Birgersson Warikomi of mild steel clad and his absolutely sublime std core. The steel is hard, crisp, and doesn’t feel at all fragile at nail flexing thinness. I would pry an avocado pit out with this, but I’m never get scary board feel or noises like I’ve gotten with very thin hard steels other times. Definitely one of my all time favorite steels. Great taper, beautiful handle and all around an excellent performer.

I removed the slightly hollow grind on the bevels and applied a kasumi finish with stones. You’ll be able to easily follow the bevels and polish and thin as you go from here as there are no low spots left. Current photos are with patina but include the post polish photos too. Great banding in the cladding but not a lot of contrast to be had. Tons of fun to play with on stones still though.

Congrats to the buyer (harken?) and an awesome seller. I have two of Bjorn's knives and they are always among my absolute favorites (Fredrik Spåre another huge favorite). You will love this knife!

Edit: fixed typo in @harken's name! Sorry! 😃

Wasn’t in time for this one, but I do have a Spåre on the way I’m very excited about! Good to hear more positive things about his work!

Oh man, he is great. My first was a honyaki (my only one) with mammoth tusk bolster, cuts like a dream. Other one is one of the MCX collab bunkas which I thought was insane value. KKFers don't love bunkas but I'm OK with that because I do and it makes them cheaper 🤣

Jump on a BB when you can though, they are special too.
