Anyone know if the three circles design used by Carter and Heiji carries any symbolic meaning or significance of some kind?
I'm a Legend of Zelda fan so I assumed it was a nod to the Triforce...
Seriously though I'm curious, maybe I'll write one of them if we all don't know

For Carter check out the faq on his website.
On a side-note: doesn't Kramer also use three circles?

Just opened up his bladesmithing book - the (Mitsuboshi) Trademark symbol for "three stars" registered in the the 3rd year of the keicho era (1598)

Im sure this explains everything now;)

Jason.

I know its his "Mitsuboshi" mark but I cant tell you the significance..Sorry

WRT Heiji, you mean those 3 dots near the writing? I thought those indicated stainless steel.

Heiji's three dots are used on his semi stainless knives, not on carbon steel knives.

Guys check out youtube for his "forging a Nakiri"..he mentions the marks he puts on there but I can remember what else he said.
