The previous owner had not sharpened the knife. I have sharpened it two times during the year that I have had it, and have used some 2000 grit sandpaper once to remove surface scratches. The Gesshin logo on the back is slightly faded because of the sandpaper, see pictures.

It's a dream to use. It's incredibly easy to sharpen for stainless (as other people have noted previously on this forum) and retains a usable edge for a LONG time, due to how thin it is. I'm just selling it so that I can continue to try new things. Comes with a JKI saya, and original box.
