had some ice-cream for lunch and it was on the soft side.

oh-o. I stuck my instant read into the tub of ice-cream and it came back at 11 deg. I dug up the buried thermometer and it confirmed the temp. I fixed this thing once.

I vacuumed everything, checked the usual suspects...and left a VM with my repair guy. my wife comes home and says, "yay! we can get a new fridge!".

we had to hit an appliance store since my fridge opening is only so tall. I am not tearing out cabinets to get one to fit. haha. well, we have a new fridgeaire on the way. that was unexpected ($). oh well. life comes at your from everywhere sometimes.

Dude, roll with it. That's the perfect temperature for gelato.

On a side note, our relatively new Frigidaire freezer went ****-up last month. Leak in the coolant system... Repair people are not interested in pinpointing and fixing leaks. The repair guy said freezers these days rarely last more then 7 years due to this problem (crappy piping or connections/ seals?). We paid him to recharge the unit to buy us some time, as the freezer was full of a lot of stuff from the garden and a lot of meats and sauces. That was $240 (including cost for visit/ diagnosis)...

:rolleyes:You'd think that is is cost effective to pinpoint a leak and repair it...when your car AC goes ****-up that is exactly what they do, in a much more cramped space and usually for reasonable prices (unless the compressor needs replacing)
