I know SKS stocks them, but I’m looking for the small one, anyone familiar with anywhere else? I’m tired of meat juice soaking into my wooden blocks, which I still have to use for other food.

Anyone have any reasons/experiences with hasegawa that would make me reconsider?

I got mine from sharp and can say they have awesome customer service, if you contact them they may be able to get the one u want
Seems like the only place at the moment. They do have excellent service, don’t mind buying from them at all.

I fear all shipping and duties from outside of Canada. It seems like a toss up but the worst case scenario sounds pretty bad. Global looked like a good option, but yeah DHL Is a killer for duties.

I had toyed with the thought of sourcing a brown one after reading about the softness and the sticking with keen edges, but who am I kidding, my stuff’s not that sharp.

Onion and garlic infused fruit blows, I’m going to pick up the medium one from SKS and report back.

Thanks for the help!

Finding a good size for home use is tricky. I have a yellow soft rubber one that is 39x26 cm and that is nice for small home tasks. The next size up of 44x29 cm would also be nice but I don’t have one.

The board bite on the yellow soft rubber boards is sometimes not desirable so I tried ordering one of the PE browns in 50x25 cm and didn’t like the size so I returned it. 50cm was too long and 25 too shallow. I wish they made them in the sizes above which are good. I see one at KNS that is 46x26 but its out of stock. I’d like a PE brown in 44x29 if anyone knows of a source.

Just a suggestion for sourcing. Industrial suppliers of extruded sheet often have a dozen styles & materials of "polymer" extrusions in sheets.

If you can find a food grade TPE (thermoplastic elastomer), you might get them to give you an "end cut" to try out at home that might be free even, so you could try to understand how well it works for your blade. Might be considerably less cost than getting something made in Japan.

Yeah the sizes seem a bit weird.. twice as wide as tall. One place I found had tons of sizes, but each purchase had to be ordered. I don’t think I’m too picky about the size, but who knows when it shows up.
